On the 20th October 2020, MMCO was invited to make a presentation of it's work and to talk about the Marine Mammals of Mauritius and its integration in MSP (Marine Spatial Planning) that was held in collaboration with UNESCO-IOC (Intergovernmental Oceanic Commission) and the Swedish government.

 

Marine spatial planning (MSP), as defined by the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission (IOC) of UNESCO, is 'a public process of analysing and allocating the spatial and temporal distribution of human activities in marine areas to achieve ecological, economic, and social objectives that usually have been specified through a political process'.
